For those interested in participating in our UNITY! Hawza, whether as a 4-year student, on a trial basis during Year 1 “Principles of Islam”, or simply as a Facebook follower, your Director & Teacher shall be Muhammad Amin Heise Sistani.
Muhammad Amin has been blessed to convert to Islam over 27 years ago, having had mystical dialogues with the Almighty as a child, and experienced various spiritual states and recognitions periodically since, whether through dream, meditation and vision. A certified Sufi teacher according to Naqshibandi Tariqa, as well as follower of Chishti and Ni’matullahi Turuq respectively, Muhammad Amin believed at an early age in the urgency of Unity between Muslims, as well as productive and engaging inter-religious dialogue with all religions and worldviews.
Muhammad Amin has studied with grand Teachers from all Madhahib (schools of jurispruidence) both Sunni (Hanafi & Maliki) and Shi’a (Ja’fari), till a fateful evening at the University of Hamburg in late 2011, when he met his Destiny, Seyyed Mehdi Imam Razvi, peace be upon him, a contemporary Zaydi Imam based in Hamburg, Germany for over 50 years.
During 2012 every Friday after Jumah collective prayers, Muhammad Amin would visit Imam Razvi at his personal home and take private classes as Imam Razvi’s final “master student”. With a classical “Ustad-Murid” teaching relationship, Imam Razvi taught Muhammad Amin the disciplines of Zaydi Fiqh (jurisprudence), Mu’tazili Hikmat (philosophy), and Chisti Irfaniyyat (Sufism), receiving ‘Ijazah to spread Imam Razvi’s teachings to further generations. All that Muhammad Amin managed to learn from Imam Razvi in the last years of his blessed life, contain the formative teachings of what we present and represent within our UNITY! Hawza.
