Our UNITY! Hawza, inspired by the teachings of Seyyed Mehdi Imam Razvi, peace be with him, is an Academy for Islamic Education based on Humanitarianism, Reason, Freedom and Unity within Islam.

Founded in Autumn 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, we started as an experimental “e-Hawza” on Facebook, and quickly grew into a full-scale Academy with more than 80 students, a 4-year programme, 12 aspiring graduates, and a channel track to full certification and ‘Ijazah: License to teach new students and even open your own, local UNITY! Hawza Academy.

Unity within Islam, and productive, friendly relations between all religions and worldviews, is a main, driving inspiration of our Hawza. For, did not the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be with him, constantly preach brotherhood and unity between Muslims, as well as good relations with members of different religions:

 إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

“Truly, the Believers are brothers, thus foster brotherhood between them, and be respectful of Allah (Majestic) that you may yet gain His mercy.” (Qur’an 49:10)

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَالَّذِينَ هَادُوا وَالنَّصَارَىٰ وَالصَّابِئِينَ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

“Truly, the Believers, and the Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, all whom believe in Allah and the Day of Judgment, and perform virtuous deeds, shall have their reward by Allah, and shall neither fear nor bereave.” (Qur’an 2:62)

ادْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ ۖ وَجَادِلْهُم بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ ۖ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ

“Call to your Lord’s path by Wisdom and in the finest Way. Surely your Lord is aware of whom has gone astray, and whom He has guided on the correct Path.” (Qur’an 16:125)

Our Director and Teacher, Ebrahim Moussa Heise Sistani, is based in Hamburg, Germany and has been qualified through ‘Ijazah of Imam Razvi, peace be with him, after studying privately with Imam Razvi as a Master Student.

At present, we organize mainly through Facebook and Messenger, however we expect to be transitioning to Google Alphabet as our online platform starting Winter Semester 2023/2024, God willing.
